QBL recently signed a formal agreement with the community of Quilloma, located in Pacajes Province, to begin work on a water project to provide hand pumps to each family in the community.

Project Objective: Reduce the incidences of diarrhea by 10% by providing 48 families with access to clean water (43 wells and one small gravity-fed system) and training them in hygiene. Provide each family with a water trough for their animals.

Project Costs: Here is a breakdown between the QBL, Municipal and local contributions to the Project Costs:

  • QBL: $16,975
  • Local: $12,000
  • Municipal: $7,675

How can you help?
You can donate the following items to support this project:

  • You can donate $5 to provide a hygiene kit for one child. Perhaps you want to encourage children or youth in your meeting to raise funds to provide hygiene kits for the children in this community.
  • $150 will provide a pump to one family.
  • You can donate $400 to supply a water pump, the cement casing for the pump, the specialized labor required to install the pump and the training on hygiene, using the pump and how to ensure that the families can get the most from their clean water. Do you know a group of people that would like to make it a goal to raise these funds? It could be a great way to encourage charitable giving in your office, meeting, church or social club.

Please help us by donating to the project. Please be sure to indicate what you would like to fund. We will be sure that it goes to the right place! Please note, though, that if we reach our required donations, then we will apply your funding to another project.
