From Bournemouth to Bolivia
Compassion + Creativity = two villages with water supplies
Two Bolivian villages will now have safe drinking water thanks to the truly amazing efforts of the folk working at Cherry Tree Nursery in Bournemouth on the south coast of England.
Because of their commitment, construction work is already progressing at Villa Concepcion and Chichaque, two communities in the dramatically beautiful Sorata Valley. After an energetic program of fund raising, Cherry Tree are able to finance the complete water systems for both villages.

Cherry Tree works to educate and rehabilitate people who experience mental health problems. They nurture plants and interact with other nursery workers and customers. For some of them working for a village in Bolivia has been a moving focus in their lives.
So how did they raise over £6500 ($11,000)?
They tidied gardens in the town
Sold T shirts featuring the flag of the indigenous people of Bolivia
Held cake sales
Sold books, DVDs, greetings cards and bags of woodchip
Held car boot sales (selling articles from car trunks)
Held a sponsored 'Water Walk' in which 20 of them walked 6 km carrying water containers weighing 6kg (13 lbs) to represent how Bolivians in Villa Concepcion and Chichaque have to carry their water every day
